French at Maynooth is delighted to launch its series of interactive workshops: 60 MINUTES INSIDE... Aimed at teachers (all levels) and student-teachers of French in Ireland, each 60-minute interactive session, led by MU French staff, will focus on a specific aspect of French/Francophone cultures.
To celebrate the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday 11th May, our first workshop will take you on a cultural tour of Eurovision in France and explore related topics of geopolitics, nationalism, stereotypes, and the wider musical landscape in the country. The event includes a short presentation, a trivia, and activities focused on key French songs. Some materials will be provided in advance; a short course pack will be sent to everyone afterwards in case they wish to reuse some of the materials.
Our goal is to provide a space for teachers and trainees to engage with a wider community of Francophiles, keep practicing their French, and discover new cultural content that may be relevant to their curriculum.
This event is free, online, and requires no preparation. We'll prioritize French during the workshop and are happy to welcome speakers of all levels. This event has limited spots (around 25) to foster exchanges and communication.
Upon signing up, you will receive a Zoom link to join the event on the day. For additional questions in the meantime, don't hesitate to email [email protected] (subject line: 60 Minutes).
